SPECIAL THEME: HARNESSING THE COMPLEXITY OF INNOVATION

Evolutionary perspective in social system places the innovation concept as an important keyword. Innovation can be viewed as collective response of system that emerged at different scales, including individual, group and organization levels, to meet the demand of its environment for survival. Today, the growing complexity of social system induces research on complex system drawing more attention to scrutinize the nature of innovation process. There are many interesting topics related to this theme and encompassing most of behavioral and social science discipline such as the emergence of creativity, the condition that sustain the adaptiveness of certain system, the spread and managing of innovation diffusion, the synergy between environment and innovation system through variety and selection process. The aim of this Special Issue is to enhance our further understanding about innovation process in social system by using computation and simulation tools. You are encouraged and invited to submit your research papers, opinions, speculative thinking, and book-review related to this issue.

This is the main idea and motive behind the special theme proposed: "Harnessing the Complexity of Innovation", to be elaborated in the next issue of the Journal of Social Complexity.
