CALL FOR PAPERS
JOURNAL OF SOCIAL COMPLEXITY Vol. 6 No. 1
SPECIAL THEME:
COMPLEXITY IN THE POP CULTURE
The discussions and investigations on the pop culture may depart from a wide area of perpectives, but one of characteristics remains: that it concerns what appeals to the masses. In this special issue, we will not focus on what pop culture should or should not be, as it is often put in opposition with, e.g. high or counter culture. Pop culture is a social phenomenon. It is induced, propagates and evolves through time. From clothing to cooking, it manifests in different shapes and forms, for different purposes. It spreads through various mass media which are evolving themselves, from the movable type to the world wide web. It lives in the society, and dies. And from such standpoint we invite you to enrich our understanding on the subject, by submitting your research papers, opinions, and relevant book reviews.
This is the main idea and motive behind the special theme proposed: "Complexity in the Pop Culture", to be elaborated in the next issue of the Journal of Social Complexity. You are encouraged and invited to submit
your research papers, opinions, speculative thinkings, and
book-review to the Editorial Board
by April 30th 2013 00:00GMT .
Your ideas on this are surely important to our further understanding
about the employment of computation and mathematics in social
analysis.
